Nick Sinai, senior adviser at Insight Venture Partners, discusses how agencies could improve their digital experiences, and implement the goals of the 21st Century IDEA act.


The 21st Century Integrated Digital Experience Act directs federal agencies to improve their customer experience. Customs and Immigration Services is rolling out their plan to execute the IDEA act’s principles. Nick Sinai, senior adviser at Insight Venture Partners, says that in order to improve experience, the government should be as user friendly as the private sector.   “I think we, on the whole, do too much custom work in the federal government, and we have too much services. So, we need to think about how can we leverage, best of breed, great internet-based, software-as-a-service type of technologies.” Sinai said. “How can we use those, integrate them with existing legacy systems through APIs, to deliver the kinds of experiences that our customers expect, but also that employees and federal staff expect as well?”
