Jeffrey Neal, senior vice president at ICF, discusses how NAPA’s list of challenges for public administration was created, and its goal of getting people to start talking about the issues.

A team of fellows at NAPA have composed a list of 12 grand challenges for public administration. One top priority is having local, state, and federal government work together in addressing the issues they’ve laid out.

Jeffrey Neal, senior vice president at ICF, says they want the list to get people thinking and begin the discussion on tackling these grand challenges.“We wanted people to start thinking about them, and we recognized that NAPA is not the group that will deal directly with all of these,” Neal said. “But we may be convening for people who can deal with them. And to get them out in the public’s mind and in the minds of leaders in government and state, local, federal levels and not for profit organizations. And to also get the public looking at it. Get academics looking at it. So, we really want to start the discussion on these issues.”
