14 new cybersecurity vulnerabilities that cyber firm Forescout identified put critical federal infrastructure at risk. Those vulnerabilities could affect the security of online government systems.
- Rita Foster, infrastructure advisor at Idaho National Laboratory, said federal IT leaders should prioritize partnerships with integrators and original equipment manufacturers to solidify communication between infrastructure end devices.
- Foster said the 14 vulnerabilities, labeled INFRA:HALT, could cause end device denials of service that are distributed or specific to a piece of equipment and could interrupt communications.
- Foster said although adversaries are aware of the widespread vulnerabilities, vulnerability does not mean actual impact, and helpful guidance exists.
