The National Security Agency is reorganizing their cybersecurity communities into a cohesive group. According to Federal News Network, the NSA Cybersecurity Directorate will merge together their operations, threat intelligence and vulnerability assessment offices. The office will reach initial operating capability in October, and Ron Marks, president of ZPN National Security and Cyber Strategies, says that NSA Director Paul Nakasone has done a good job prioritizing these efforts.
“There’s the old story about how amateurs talk strategy and pros talk logistics. He is doing a good job of combining together a whole bunch of bits and pieces within NSA. If you can give NSA the chance to speak with a voice, I think that’s a very good thing,” Marks said.
“Anne Neuberger is a very accomplished bureaucrat, who worked very well in the russia small group and made a lot of things happen. The challenge with this is… how are they going to interact with CISA, CTIC, the FBI? You can just run down the line at this point.”
