Joanne Woytek, program manager of the Solutions for Enterprise-Wide Procurement GWAC at NASA, details how the end-of-year spending rush impacts their contract vehicle, and what lies ahead as FY18 wraps up.

The final countdown has begun for FY18. Agencies have less than two weeks to use up their remaining appropriations for the year, and they are turning to government-wide contract vehicles to do it. Joanne Woytek, Program Manager of the Solutions for Enterprise-Wide Procurement GWAC at NASA, says that the majority of interest in their program comes in Q4.   “We, as always, are gearing up to handle the influx of the next two weeks. We usually get about 30 percent of our dollars [in] the last couple weeks of September,” Woytek said. “We’re ahead of last year, as of the end of August, by 17 percent, so I’m not sure if that means more people are using us, or there actually was better spending throughout. We’re pretty much on target for September.”
