LTG Ronald Place (USA), director of the Defense Health Agency, discusses how the military is working to ensure good healthcare for all their troops, and the role that inter-service collaboration plays.

The Defense Health Agency is working hard to achieve goals like adoption of the MHS GENESIS electronic health record. LTG Ronald Place (USA), director of the Defense Health Agency, says that there’s a good amount of collaboration between the military services to accomplish the overall health mission.

“I’m not going to tell you that everything has gone perfectly. But, one of the great things about using the legacy of the services and how they have managed their medical treatment facilities in the past, is that collaboration has been fantastic,” Place said. “We are making great headway, we’re solving problems, we’re rationalizing policies. It is really, really, rewarding and good work.”
