The Department of Agriculture is looking at new options for expanded telework, even after the pandemic is over. Remote work could help the government expand the talent pool for the finance workforce.
- Mallory Barg Bulman, Research Director of Finance Process Excellence at Gartner, said human resources leaders estimate as many as 50% of workers will work remotely after the pandemic, and the government will follow the private sector in broadening the talent search to a wider range of locations.
- Bulman said Gartner found there are areas where finance talent exists but the government is not currently recruiting talent, including Boston, Dallas, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Minneapolis, San Antonio and Miami.
