2019 was a big year in government cybersecurity. From new policies to controversies, there are several new challenges to be tackled in the coming months. As the government looks to improve their tactics Bob Bigman, former CISO at the CIA, says that while zero-trust cyber strategies are a good thing, implementing them can be a little vague.
“There’s a lack of specifications and standards on what exactly zero-trust means. Most organizations realize that their infrastructure has become so complicated, with not just now systems talking to each other and networks talking to each other, but applications talking to each other. When you’re trying to build fences, it is increasingly difficult when you have communications going on at all levels of the system,” Bigman said.
