A new executive order from President Biden will set a minimum wage for government contracts at $15 per hour.
- Eric Crusius, Partner at Holland & Knight, said the order is not supposed to be implemented until early next year but it encourages agencies to raise their minimum wage before that.
- Contractors should save records to show changes in employee wages and proactively work with agencies as they will likely be able to get a price adjustment for the difference, said Crusius.
- Crusius said this order will probably have the greatest impact on the services industry.
