Nick Wakeman, editor of Washington Technology, discusses Congress threatening to cut JEDI funding unless the Pentagon can provide info on the selection process, and the status of the M&A marketplace.

The House Armed Services Committee is taking the Department of Defense to task over the JEDI cloud contract. In a draft of the NDAA released Monday, HASC is asking the Pentagon to detail how the selection process would provide for a full and open competition, or face a major funding cut. This move echoes industry concerns over the contract. “DoD hasn’t helped themselves at all in this process. You look at their answers to the comments on the draft RFP. They are not releasing their justification, all of these things. There’s not been a lot of transparency in the why of what they’re trying to do. That has raised a lot of concerns in industry, and that’s being heard up on the Hill,” said Nick Wakeman, editor of Washington Technology.
