The General Services Administration is undertaking numerous initiatives to improve their federal portfolio. From consolidating acquisition schedules to streamlining the agency’s real estate holdings, the agency’s programs are starting to see results. Emily Murphy, administrator of the General Services Administration, says that achieving her agency’s current ‘end state’ relies on thriving solutions.
“I’ve always thought about GSA being a little bit like an unassembled jigsaw puzzle. You have the box, you have to shake it up and try to figure out how to piece things together to get the solution you want. Frankly, we sometimes make it difficult for our customers to navigate GSA,” Murphy said. “What I would like to see is us assemble that jigsaw puzzle so someone can come in and find what they want. They can do it at a really cost-effective, very efficient way, that they are happy with the results and we’re a good partner to industry in doing so.”
