The General Services Administration’s Enterprise Infrastructure Services contract is intended to allow agencies to have upgraded telecommunications capabilities, but it’s seen many setbacks since its award in 2017. Mark Rockwell, staff writer at FCW, says that the EIS contract has been difficult for GSA to get agencies to adopt.
“If you are GSA, you’ve got to be frustrated. We are kind of in fits and starts here. They’ve got to be getting some pressure from OMB and other people, because in the last big telecom contract, they had 3 year delays… It was a bad scene. They are working hard to avoid that. I think they’re doing their best that they can with agencies at this point,” Rockwell said.
