The Government Accountability Office, the inspector general, Congress, and agency leadership made procurement reform a top priority after cost explosions and delays plagued some of the largest medical facility construction projects at the Department of Veterans Affairs. Gregory Giddens, executive director at the VA Office of Acquisition, discussed his progress on that front with Francis at ACT-IAC’s Executive Leadership Conference in Williamsburg, Va.
The National Information Exchange Model considers itself to be a data dictionary. NIEM says it uses agreed-upon terms, definitions, relationships, and formats to help all 50 states and most federal agencies adopt a standards-based approach to exchanging data. The Department of Homeland Security just released NIEM 3.2. Program director Donna Roy discussed NIEM’s future with Francis at ACT-IAC’s Executive Leadership Conference in Williamsburg, Va.
