What started as a few Airmen bonding over their love of video games has turned into an Air Force sanctioned program. During a recent industry conference in Chicago, Mimi spoke with one of the founders of Air Force Gaming, Capt. Zach “ZB” Baumann.

  • The initiative started when Baumann reached out to a friend on LinkedIn who had an idea for Air Force Gaming, which Baumann had also thought of when doing a project on the gaming industry in grad school.
  • The core concept is to connect people across the Air Force, and while the members are mostly young, some are older, said Baumann.
  • He said a few people work on Air Force Gaming full time but most are volunteers.
