Maintaining both strategic and tactical readiness is a top priority for the Army. The need to modernize equipment and keep personnel at the top of their game was a common refrain at AUSA 2019. At the event, Army Chief of Staff GEN James McConville told Government Matters that the Army’s goals are all aligned in support of the National Defense Strategy.
“When we look at our priorities, long range precision fires, next generation combat vehicle, future vertical lift, the network, soldier lethality, we have experimented in simulation with those systems, but more importantly, the Multi Domain Operations concept that we are developing. When we put those together, that’s when we get the best results,” McConville said.
