FedRAMP certifications are no longer just for civilian agencies. The Defense Information Systems Agency is now accepting the authorization for defense technology applications. Brig. Gen. Gregory Touhill, president of Cyxtera Federal Group, says that the benefits of FedRAMP will help on both the public and private sides of defense tech.
“As a vendor, we have gone through one year and we’re in the final approach for a FedRAMP high solution. We have spent a whole lot of money, but we also know that the taxpayers are getting their money’s worth and making sure that our products and capabilities are as secure as we say they are,“ Touhill said. “Putting my government hat back on. As i was looking at FedRAMP and the leadership that Matt Goodrich and others had while he was still serving in office, they were very deliberate, very transparent. Frankly, FedRAMP is very intensive. Seeing the Defense Department finally coming around and saying, ‘Yes, it is,’ is a good thing.”
