The Pentagon now requires all military personnel to attest to their Covid-19 vaccination status in accordance with the White House’s new guidance. The Defense Department requires those who have not been vaccinated to wear masks, physically distance and get tested regularly.
- David Berteau, president and chief executive officer of the Professional Services Council and former assistant secretary of defense for logistics and materiel readiness, said it is unclear what the president’s announcement means by onsite contractors because there is no technical definition for it.
- Berteau said the Pentagon’s requirements might take a couple of weeks to be finalized and that developing a form for attestation of vaccination status is an involved process.
- Berteau recommends contractors open lines of communication with all of their contracting representatives.
