The Department of Homeland Security is looking to smaller entrepreneurs and emerging tech industries to improve the work and services of the federal government.
- Melissa Oh, managing director of the Silicon Valley Innovation Program at the DHS, explained that the program is located in Silicon Valley to be near entrepreneurs and innovators.
- The program aims to partner with start-up companies and small businesses to bring innovative technologies to the DHS
- All technologies that have made it through phase 4 of the program have gone on to be commercialized, Oh said.
