The national defense budget continues to grow, but the Defense Department has not been able to provide a sufficient account of those funds. Achieving and sustaining a clean audit will be evidence of an enterprise-wide transformation. Each service must actively participate at the program level and across operations, led by the secretary. At the Air Force, auditability impacts every headquarters element and major command down to the squadron level. The external auditor’s current Notices of Findings and Recommendations have only scratched the surface. This 30-minute program explores the strategy and roadmap for transforming the Air Force’s finance and business operations to achieve and sustain a clean audit opinion.
