Join us as AFCEA DC comes “Home for the Holidays” at the 44th Annual Winter Gala. The black tie, networking event will be hosted on December 12, 2019 at the National Museum of Women in the Arts. The event, now in its 44th year, will bring together almost 1,000 of the top leaders from the federal IT community from across both government and industry. The event is an elegant opportunity to network with senior leaders from across 67 defense and civilian agencies. There are no presentations and no formalities – just an opportunity to network amongst peers. All proceeds from the event go directly STEM scholarships for local students in the DC metro area and AFCEA DC’s educational programming. Last year, over $500,000 was raised from the Gala. This year’s goal is $600,000. A main attraction are the 5 giant gingerbread houses on display. The specially themed “houses” are donated in partnership with the USO to the Walter Reed; Fisher House at Walter Reed; Children’s Hospital; and Fort Belvoir Community Hospital. As part of the event, the Chapter collects toys for the Marine Corps’ Toys for Tots initiative. Last year, over 4,000 toys were collected and the Chapter hopes to surpass that number this year.
