John Kamensky, senior fellow at the IBM Center for the Business of Government, discusses efforts to increase employee engagement in the Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey, and a new tool to help agencies access survey data.
The Office of Personnel Management will begin administering the Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey in May. The survey’s engagement numbers have been John Kamensky, senior fellow at the IBM Center for the Business of Government, says that a new tool can be used to help agencies access the data from the survey. “The Office of Management and Budget are really supportive of this [tool]. They discovered this little project that was going on and they’ve been telling everyone about it,” Kamensky said. “The reason OMB is interested in it is because they have a big goal to improve the bottom 20 percent of employee engagement data, to increase them by 20 percent by 2020. They call it the 20-2020 initiative. This is a tool that will help agencies identify the actions that need to be taken.”
